Crazyness Wednesday

I'm back in Hockey Country! It's great to be back home, and I'm already swamped with people to see, things to do and of course... things to eat! :-)

Lots more to post but for now I saw this pic over at Venture Chronicles and thought the hilarity/obserdity fit the crazyness going on here :-)

Five Hottest List

Was listening to "3 Guys on the Radio" the other day and they were talking about something that I've been meaning to post about for a long time, from Steve's TGOR Blog we get the "top 5" list of hottie babes. On an old episode of "Friends" (season 3 episode 5) Ross (not EuroRoss mind you) has a laminated card of the 5 famous women he'd like to have sex with if given the chance and asks his girlfriend Racheal (who thinks its utterly ridiculous) to be allowed to do so if given the chance. Needless to say the discussion of who should be on the list between the guys was quite a debate.

Just to tie up the episode, Ross is convinced by his mates to leave off one actress for another "because she lives overseas and he should concentrate on the more likely domestic star encounters", only to find that actress in the very coffee shop he's in! He approaches her and tells her the story (which she finds charming) but when she asks to see his list she gets pissed because she's not on it and Ross loses the opportunity.

In the spirit of this episode I give you my current top 5 famous actresses on my "exempt" list, which changes on an almost daily basis :-)

# 1 - Alyssa Milano

Well ever since girls stopped having "cooties" and "Who's the Boss" hit the airwaves, I've been in love with Alyssa. She's always been my #1 and always will be [for famous actresses I mean ;-) ]

# 2 - Kate Beckinsale

A classic beauty who knows how to kick it with such fighter flicks as Underworld and romances like Serendipity:

# 3 - Victoria Adams

Probably would be #2 if if weren't for a little space for rent upstairs. None the less stunning:

# 4 - Rachael Stevens

Now that she's out of that crappy S Club 7 band to focus on her equally bad solo career hopefully she'll have more time to search around the world looking for me ;-)

# 5 - Diane Lane

A bit of a surprise, and as the oldest one on the list perhaps a little perplexing, but if you've seen the heat in her movie "Unfaithful" and you combine that with the class and wit of her personality then you'll certainly be won over by this beauty:

Some others that have been on the list at one time or another that don't quite make the cut anymore but would be worthy of anyones list for sure: Kate Boseworth, Laetitia casta, Rachel Stevens, Maura Tierney, Catherine Zeta Jones, Keri Russel, Pam Anderson, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Jacinda Barratt, Katie Holmes, Shania Twain, Jenny Garth, Elizabeth Hurley, Leslie Bibb, Racheal Bilson.

Any suggestions? Did I totally overlook sombody? Who's on your list (girls and guys)?

One

When you develop an infatuation for someone,
you always find a reason to believe,
that this is exactly the person for you.

It doesn't need to be a good reason,
taking photographs of the night sky for example.

Now in the long run,
that's just the kind of dumb, irritating habit,
that would cause you to split up.

But in the haze of infatuation,
it's what you've been searching for,

all... these... years...

Bonnes Anniversair!

Holy Cow! I was looking for an old post when I found this one that was still in "draft" mode despite the fact that I distinctly recall posting it almost a month ago! Oh well, better late than never I guess?? ;-) Well maybe this French post mimics the culture eh ;-) Without furthur ado I give you some pics from one of our bike tours of Paris:

Breathtaking:

The cycling gang:

Anyone know what this builing in the park is? I ask because they had a huge Canadian flag on the back window!

Oh the fun when one of yor mates passes out!

The night was a blast, some of us got totally wasted, phrase of the night: "Boated and Loaded" ;-)

Oh Canada!

I just found out that O.C. hottie mom Kelly Rowen was actually born in my hometown Ottawa, Canada! Wow, Kelly's the prototypical example of what you'd define as a MILF (mother I'd like to F#$%). Finding out she's homegrown Canadian just shot her up my list even further. Speaking of "the list", I'll have a post sometime next week :-) Until then might I just say: Ms. Rowen... well done! :-) :-p

Update: In case you didn't know Evangeline Lilly from ABC's new TV series "Lost" is also Canadian. This update is certainly just a shameless stunt to post more hot pics to my site... yummy :-)

All Saints Revisited

One of my girlfriends got dumped last night and needed a shoulder to cry on. I just send her a "breakup" CD with a bunch of songs to help her feel better including a new Danish song I found out about while travelling there last week. If you love the All Saints (and boy do we love em!), then you'll definatly like this Danish artist Anna David. Her song "Fuck Dig" is basically a song dissing the ex, quite "pop-y" but definatly worth a download. Anyone got the exact english translation?

Fuck Dig - Anna David

Don't worry baby, time heals... and so does chocolate ;-)

Update: Thanks to Betts who got the translation in!

There was a time when you could make me do anything
Be there at any hour because it really mattered
And I’ve taken my beatings and picked you up when you fell
But that’s over now

I think you should take your things now and leave
I’m sure you’ll find some one who’ll put up
With all the fucked up stuff that you expected me to put up with
It’s over baby

Try to understand I want you to leave- now
No more words, no more slack - now
Cause deep inside you know, it’s too late

For all the times that you stood me up
For all the time I never will get back
For all the times you have disappointed me
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you

For all the times you pissed me off
For all the times you were way too weak
For all the times you have dissed me, yes
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you
So fuck you…

There was a time where I was sure that you were the one
I should cry with and laugh with and love with but
You have proven that you were the wrong man to trust
So it’s over now

Try to understand I want you to leave- now
No more words, no more slack - now
Cause deep inside you know, it’s too late

For all the times you stood me up
For all the time I never will get back
For all the times you have disappointed me
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you

For all the times you pissed me off
For all the times you were way too weak
For all the times you have dissed me, yes
And forgot about me, kept away, used me, fuck you
So fuck you…

Oh The Shame

Two nights ago on live prime time TV one of VFB Stuttgart's arch enemies, BVB Dortmund lost to a lolely third league (now moved up to 2nd) team 2-1 with a goal from the oppositions captain with less than 10 minutes left in the game; once again proving that the Liga Pokal is the greatest idea of a tournament ever! The only thing that's possibly even more embarrasing for BVB would be this showing on national TV (BVB is in yellow, NSFW - not safe for work).

Well if it's going to be a tough season for VFB then at least we can get some consilation from the fact that BVB is also having a nightmare of a season. I know they say "don't take pleasure in someone else's pain", but in this case I pee on you BVB fan! :-)

Et Le Fin

In yellow jersey Tour De France-esc style we wrap up last weeks tour in Paris. As you can tell from the photo we arrived into town just after midnight allowing Griz to see his first Eiffel tower lit up like a christmas tree:

When you're traveling around on the subway for 16 stops you've sometimes gotta make your own fun ;-)

Considering the fact that Grizzy was in Paris for only 24 hours we headed out early the next morn to do some power sightseeing. Even though our biking idea got totally screwed, we were still able to get our feet in motion and hit the mainstays, strike a pose Grizzy ;-)

Alo alo!

Tres cool, I'd love to be rumling downtown Ottawa with this bad boy!

Gizzy vs. Eiffel:

Don't ask me, it was a long day being exposed to lots of heat which might have had something to do with this pic:

After a long day of sightseeing (and bank-seeing, another story altogether) I took Griz over to the local Canadian ex-pat bar The Moose. Yes they sell Moosehead (locally brewed though) but we decided upon a highly recommended Molson-Canadian style beer on special that day, man that was one cold, smooth beer!

The Moose is cool, love the "50":

That's it! All caught up from Grizzy's short stint on mainland Europe. I might post some of the other photo's he got but probably just on Flickr instead of the main sight. Thanks to everyone who we met on our tour and who made it fantastic :-)

The Journey Continues...

After a fun night in Stuttgart we managed to finally re-unite German and Grizzy in Darmstadt. The boys were on the town and in a mood to get busy!

Trick photography from the water spout I swear! Although I don't know what Griz and German are looking at ;-)

Grizzy the angel or devil? "Mach's Mit!" :-)

Hitting the Irish pub on a Sunday night at 3am sometimes means drinking alone. Actually Grizzy just cleared the place by dropping a bomb ;-) I swear all these pics looked like they were in focus that night! ;-)

From the home of a self-professed Leaf fan... the truth is revealed! :-)

The next morning we had to go sightseeing. On tap was hitting the art's district with it's cool architecture (pics to come but are currently on Grizzy's camera in London) and even more impressive... the biggest beer store in Germany! (yes they even sell some Canadian beer, Molson Canadian and Moosehead)

A busy travel schedule starts to take it's toll... off to Paris!

Nap Time

It's Sunday afternoon after a long couple weeks of traveling, partying and gettin' it on... time for a nap ;-)

Stuttgart Grizzy

Well we're almost done posting all the pics from last week, whew! After an insanely long day on the train trying to clean the cobwebs from the wedding nights party out we finally made it to Stuttgart. Of course Grizzy needed to experience the joys of cold beer, good friends and people watching only found at CBP :-) We were definatly the classyest cats there with our wine tasting companions!

T-dot showed up a little late... please do not ask me whats going on here because I have NO idea!

Rocking through the Stuttgart Hbf (main train station) on route to T-dots. (click the photo below for a video)

Waitin' for the train just ain't what it used to be!

Great times that night, thanks to T-dot for being host extrodinaire and the gang for not choosing a scary movie ;-)

Wedding

Seeing Karlsruhe Kris yesturday reminded me to get my ass in gear and post the rest of the wedding pics! So here goes, we start off where we left off, returning from Cologne Friday morning to get our class-on at the wedding. Here's the pre-afternoon gang. You can forgive the fuzzyness of Karlsruhe's picture as he might have been a little nervous ;-)

The wedding was held at this cool castle on top of a nearby mountain. Maybe some predictive marriage bells in the future here? ;-)

The ceremony was held in the castle church, a very quaint room within the compound. Da Dum De Dum... the music's going and it's about to start!

No worries, the ceremony when off without a hitch, beautifully done would be an understatement, don't they look great together! Congrats Karlsruhe and Hefe!

Leaving the late night dancing, partying and "other" pics from the evening for any who e-mail, we now show the gang the next morning hiking up the mountain to Karlsruhe's parents house to drop off our gift and say our goodbye's:

Once again congrats guys, you two are perfect for each other and I couldn't be happier for you both! PS> Hefe when do you finally convince Karlsruhe to give up cheering for that regionalliga destined team HSV and cheer for a real team like VFB eh! ;-)

With that we were off on a 5 hour (more due to a soccer match stop-over in Frankfurt pictured here) journey to Stuttgart to hook up with the rest of the gang:

The Globe

Unfortunatly we won't be able to hook up in London before I have to jet back to Canada. One of the most disappointing things about that (besides not being able to see my friends and family of course!) is that I also won't be able to go to a Shakespearian play at The Globe theatre. This theatre was constructed in the old Shakespearian style and only shows his plays. Some of the best theatre I've ever seen has been there, alas I have not been able to go for the past 2 years and now that I'll be missing it next week it looks like I'm going to have to wait a little longer. Sigh.

If you're ever in London, I highly recommend hitting The Globe for some great theatre.

Hamburg Kicking Kickers

Yesturday we rocked over to an opening pokal game between the Stuttgart Kickers and Hamburg pieces of crap ;-) For those of you who don't know, the German Soccer Pokal tournament is a tournament featuring all teams from first second and third leagues as well as some regional team champions etc all competing against each other. The excitement of course is when these big first league teams come and play regional third and fourth league teams and sometimes lose! So these games tend to be very exciting for the home team even if they lose because they get a chance to see superstars play in their small villages. It's the most exciting soccer of the year and inevitably at least one team loses to a shitty third or fourth league team (this year Cologne actually lost in the first round!). So we headed to the game with hopes of a Kickers upset win, of course we had to stop by CBP first (happy birthday Kristina!) and then off to the game in style ;-)

Some of us got to the game a little early... well maybe in perfect time as we could sit with the locals and enjoy a beverage:

Gametime, Go Kickers!

One minute before halftime Kickers tied up the game with a penalty kick! One-one going into the second half!

Unfortunatly despite a strong start to the second half, Hamburg got a cheap deflection goal which broke the back of the Kickers. They then got some late goals, including a clear dive penalty shot ;-) to finalize the game at 5-1. Despite the score the game was extremely exciting. Here the locals chear their Kicker players after the game:

Good times:

Our token Hamburg fan, Karlsruhe Kris somehow mistakenly got the times mixed up and showed up late. Despite a plethora of calls and sms's (which did not go through apparently) and a halftime run around the stadium to try and find him, we were unable to hook up until after the game. Needless to say he was one happy camper:

Today is the third day of pokal so I'm off to watch my VFB Stuttgart team crush some local nobodies ;-)

21 Jump Strasse

Most of us know Timmy as the upstanding MBA business professional (despite the occational three day scruffyness he sports), but few have witnessed his roots. When I saw an old high school pic I instantly knew 3 things:

1 - Tim's photo was going on EuroRoss.
2 - Tim should have been cast for the role of Johnny Depp in the German version of 21 Jump Street.
3 - Tim did not get laid in High School ;-)

Nacht Express From Hell

Taking the night express is not always a joy, but hey if it's the cheapest way to travel and saves you a night in a hostel then ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Unfortunatly last night it was the wrong solution as I was bunked with an old woman and a 21 and 22 year old couple... soon the old lady would leave.

It started out with a bad omen as the couple were already in my top bunk when I arrived, no probs I just took the other open bed. However there's something about people wispering for an hour, then making out for an hour (that's when the old lady had enough and left), then getting into a heated arguement (3am) for another hour or so and finally breaking out into an all out hitting fest that makes for a shitty night of sleep. After the first fist fight they left for a smoke (which I could smell upon their return) and started the process all over again: whispering, talking, shouting, hitting, leaving for a smoke. The best part was at 5:45 they finally left for 30 minutes where I actually got some shuteye... that is until their frigging cell phone alarm went off over and over again! Actually I lied, the BEST part was how they asked me for help talking to the conductor (they only knew french) and then helping them again to buy a ticket at the station!

Something was seriously fucked with these two as they had travelled from Paris to Stuttgart on the night train (80 euros each and going through Frankfurt) only to ask to go essen right away (back through Frankfurt and an additional 90 euros each when they could have gone straight to cologne then essen for 85 euros and 4 hours less travel time!). BRUTAL! Oh well, at least the chick was a hottie ;-)

So I'm sitting here at 7:20 am waiting for Timmy and Slimmy to get out of the shower so we can go start the beer parade. On tap is "traditional Bavarian" breakie (sausage and beers), then of course CBP for a few, hooking up with Karlsruhe Kris for the Kickers pokal win over Hamburg ;-) and finally off to Wurzburg for a throwback uni-party... yummy.

Breathtaking

Wow, there's some amazing pic posting going on over at Ubergeeks, go check it out! My personal favs:

Have a great weekend everyone! :-) :-)

Koeln Stopover

On the way to Karlsruhe Kris and Hefe's actual wedding ceremony in Krombach I stopped off with Griz in Cologne Friday morning for a (very) little sight-seeing. First on the list and right out of the train station is of course the famous church. By the way, the 3 euro sandwhiches at the bahn are frigging huge with a great taste to match!

After an initial stint downtown we then headed for the hostel on the other side of the river. It's one of my favourites being so close to the downtown, trainstation and also being quite new and comfortable. It doesn't suck that they love Canadians there either as demonstrated by the country flag outside:

After dropping off our stuff we headed back downtown to enjoy the sights, riverbank and sun :-)

With that I was off, continueing my journey to Krombach, leaving Griz behind for the night to enjoy Cologne's other attraction: the nightlife. There was however one last piece of business... having a famous kulsch of course! I just couldn't stand for the regular 0.2 kulsch, that's just too close to a shot of beer for me, so we went with the 0.3 version ;-)

You might be wondering how we got this great location for a beer, right by the famous church on the weekend when the pope was to arrive for the national childrens day festival, especially when this location would be jam packed on a normal tourist summer day. The answer my friends is that when you're having a beer at 9am in the morning there's very little competition for seating ;-)

Denmark Yonder

After an amazing Stag and Doe I was off on a 22 hour "weekender" train ticket north to Denmark. The weekender ticket is extremely cheap (30 euros for up to 5 people) but only allows you to use the slow regional trains. Needless to say after almost 10 hours and 2 missed connections I scrapped that idea, bought a fast ICE connection to the border of Denmark and finally got my ass up to meet with Betts and my buddy Grizzy (traveling around europe from Canada). It was well worth the trip. After arriving we wasted no time in catching up ;-)

It wasn't all fun and games, we also took a gander at the local architeture:

...And filled our stomachs with some tradtional Danish cuisine:

Grizzy's more of a "rock/building tourist" than I am (meaning he likes to check out famous buildings, churches, museaums etc) so we also had to go check out Hans Christian Anderson's house that he grew up in... unfortunatly for Griz I don't think he realized that the house he was hopeing to get a pic of was actually behind him (notice the people in the background taking a photo next to his actual house)! Hilarious!

A guy's gotta get his workout in somehow while on vacation ;-)

Not wanting to come empty-handed, I decided to make the gang breakfast, showing off my rapidly improving crepe making abilities learned in the heart of Paris this summer:

We also saw some other monuments such as this statue. Apparently there's a VERY famous Danish song written about this exact statue... um ok we're Canadian so we didn't really get it ;-)

The trip to the sea brought great scenery, homemade icecream waffle cones and a whole lot of wind!

Some times you've just got to stop and pick the roses ;-)

After a full couple days of sightseeing it was time to get our party ON! Grizzy the eternal playa struts his stuff with our girls:

Little did he realize that all they wanted to do was go have some tea ;-) (actually the tea cups are for a dice drinking game, a very fun game I might add!).

When hunger strikes... are you going to be able to eat all that? ;-)

A great 4 days seemed to fly by, it was time to start the next leg of our journey. Off to Germany to show Griz the fruits of Germany's brewmaster labours!

There's always time left for one last sightseeing hike next to the river!

No longer dumb enough to even think about taking the weekender ticket back, we were lucky to snag a great deal on some night express tix. Grizzy definatly had the best seat in the house... my last sight of him before hitting the sac leaving him to converse with "Loosey St. Louis". I tried to get the full story the next morning, alas the Grizzy Bear does not kiss and tell... well at least not without making me promise not to blog about it! ;-)

More pics etc to come when I hook up with Grizzy in London and get the other half of the pics.

The Fight Against Aids

Aids is a HUGE problem in the world today and threatens our very way of life. Stories like this one reported by Reuters whereby scientists have discovered that the Crocodile immune system can more effectively kill the Aids virus blows my mind. Keep up the good work guys!

Overrated

In the spirit of Charley Rosen's article on the ten most overrated NBA hall of famers (Barkley was so useless!), I figured I'd post a frivolous, unresearched, opinionated post on the current five most overrated hockey players according to EuroRoss:

5 Bobby Holik - How can one guy spooge so much from being a lazy semi-average 3rd line centre playing for a brillinatly coached and mananged Devil's club?
4 Radek Bonk - Can he still be overrated now that everyone knows he sux?
3 Alexandre Daigle - Biggest draft bust ever! Thanks alot Bryden.
2 Pierre Turgeon - 7.5 Million in 2004? I think not amego. You're also on this list for your debacle of a brother Sylvan who actually got sent home during training camp to lose weight from a last place senators club in the 90's!
1 The Leafs - Well technically the Leafs are an organisation, and a terrible one at that, but they certainly needed to make the list.

You know what else is overrated? This guys belly... yeah it could be bigger... trust me.

The Stieffel Brigade

I think my last intial post on Karlsruhe and Hefe's wedding stag and doe might have somewhat misconstrued the primary activities of the night... Stieffel drinking! With that in mind I now present to you the nights Stieffel Hall of Fame and (as in the case with a few missed opportunities) the Hall of Shame:

Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole! Um wait, I better check my pulse, am I going to still be alive after finishing this?!?! ;-)

Take a toke, pass it around:

The U-Bear packing in the Stieff:

...But it takes a women to finish the boot! ;-)

Du-be, Dube-do:

Well as a bachelor gift the Stieffel seemed to work out ok; further evidence being its apparent "banning" from the wedding diner the following week :-) To all the new members of the Stieffel gang as well as the old timers and emerging Hall of Famers (Jenny you're at 5 finished boots now eh?!), a hearty Proscht! :-)

Wedding Stag Pic Wave

Here's the first wave of pics and commentary from Karlsruhe Kris and Hefe's wedding last week. In this batch we've got the storyline from the stag and doe which Timmy, Jenny and I hit in style before I continued north (not at 4am as the rumour contends) to Denmark. Coinicidentally it's also not a 5 minute cab from Siegen to Krombach, despite whatever intoxicated younger brothers might elude to ;-)

We begin with the happy couple:

To appease the owners of the restaurant, the traditional throwing of plates, glasses and anything else that breaks and makes noise was substituted by the booming wail of one of the company trucks, a earbreaking bike and explotions from a vintage conon. My ears are still ringing!

Part of the Stiefel team:

The party rocked: amazing food, micro-brew, shots and of course... dancing:

The party started to heat up leaving those who could not keep up behind:

Party on!

More to come as I sort through submissions...

Change

"Our world is changing so fast that yesterday's answers are not only obsolute but highly dangerous since they delude us into thinking that what worked yesterday is the recipe for tomorrow's success" - Margot Cairnes

This quote spooged from Simon Heap certainly helped foster some "expert inspiration" ;-)

Blogger For Word

This is my test post using the new “Blogger for Word” plugin. Hopefully this’ll speed up some of my postings, especially ones with multiple pictures. We’ll see…

A moment of zen from Paris last week.

Update: Very disappointing. The utility does not upload images automatically, making this feature almost useless for me. Sigh. Guess I'll have to manually upload all my pics (I have using the new image button as I like to have sizeing preserved). They could also use an option where the first line is the input title field, guess I'll wait for version 2.

Bad Beer Surprise

After a frantic couple of weeks of travel EuroRoss is back. Lots of stuff coming but it'll have to wait for tomorrow as I've just sat down to enjoy a beer before hitting the sac for some much needed shuteye.

Hilarious, after taking a sip from my beer I thought something positively queer was going on. After taking another sample I was convinced the beer had somehow gone stale at the store (I had just bought it) until I realized the small red flag on the label: "Alcohol Frei".

It's time for bed! :-)

Goodbye To You

Backposted to Friday August 12...

"Goodbye To You" - Michelle Branch

Of all the things I've believed in
I just want to get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
But I do not cry
Counting the days that pass me by

I've been searching deep down in my soul
Words that I'm hearing are starting to get old
It feels like I'm starting all over again
The last three years were just pretend
And I said,

Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything that I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
The one thing that I tried to hold on to

I still get lost in your eyes
And it seems that I can't live a day without you
Closing my eyes and you chase my thoughts away
To a place where I am blinded by the light
But it's not right

And it hurts to want everything and nothing at the same time
I want what's yours and I want what's mine
I want you
But I'm not giving in this time

Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything that I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to
The one thing that I tried to hold on to

And when the stars fall
I will lie awake
You're my shooting star

Demark Grizzy and EuroRoss Gettin' Jiggy

We're getting jiggy in denmark! After a fantastic Stag and Doe for Karlsruhe Kris and Hefe in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere Krombacker (near Siegen) I took the transfer trains from hell on up to Denmark to hook up with BettsDenmark and criss-cross Griz on his 2 month European travels. It didn't take long for the wine to be cracked open, but we thought we'd take a pic of the group before the alcool started flowing like the Rein:

More pics to come, unfortunatly I forgot my camera computer cord so all my pics will have to wait till next week. Until then Gizzy's graciously let me work from his stash for the sight. All regular copyright laws and regs apply as usual, AKA none ;-) The next morning we headed downtown to check out main street Odense. You would not believe the traffic jam of bikes!

We hit the main churches, town hall, city centre and a little more in weather perfectly designed for touring and beer gardens... peace!

There's enough peace to go around yo!

The King's tome:

You all know how much I love ¨rock sightseeing¨, the excitement of seeing HC Anderson's house is clearly apparent on my face in this pic... ok so when do we hit the watering hole eh?!

So cool I just had to get it on EuroRoss:

Odense rocks so far, and there's much more to come!

Yo Denmark Ho!

The wirlwind of travels continues. Got a ton of pics and vids from Karlsruhe's Stag and Doe to post, some more sure to come after the wedding, and some great stories to come... but that will all have to wait as I've actually made it to Denmark (after a crazy 20+ hour train extravagenza) to hook up with Betts and Grizzy. Let's just say we're tearin' it up and don't have very many "safe for posting" pics available from last night ;-) so I'll start it off with the famous Odense church:

More pics and posts to follow next week...

Delerius

Delerius - Wisdom

To others the pain was obvious
The colours of shame a bruise - unjust
Abuse of trust can't be wiped

I can't remember why
I chose to say goodbye
I'm terrified of what I might have severed

I tried to forget the drowning truth
Lashing inside my sea of youth
Life seemed a fair sacrifice for peace

I can't remember why
I chose to say goodbye
I'm terrified of what I might have severed

I ended up too high
But never learnt to fly
So coming down I'm very thankful (you were there)

Et Tu Darmstadt?

Well my travels have brought me back to Darmstadt, and we hit it in style. It was great to see little Maria and Anne again and she certainly impressed us by keeping up with the big boys! Here's the pre-night pic, all smiles :-)

We're goina rock around the clock tonight...

This pic looked in focus when I took it, wow:

Haircut anyone?

For some reason the frigging church bell is boinging over and over and won't stop for the 1pm rollcall. Every hit feels like a hammer on my noggin... ouch! Stop already, I get it, it's 1pm, woop-de-doo.

Nature 's Wow Effect

Nature can sometimes take your breath away:

B-Day for Berliner

Hey "Lee", sorry I couldn't make it out this afternoon, hope this somewhat makes it up to ya: by request, Paul Simon ladies and gentlemen!

Still Crazy After All These Years
- Paul Simon

I met my old lover
On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy after all these years
Still crazy after all these years

I'm not the kind of man
Who tends to socialize
I seem to lean onOld familiar ways
And I ain't no fool for love songs
That whisper in my ears
Still crazy after all these years
Still crazy after all these years

Four in the morning
Crapped outYawning
Longing my life awayI'll never worry
Why should I?
It's all gonna fade

Now I sit by my window
And I watch the cars
I fear I'll do some damage
One fine day
But I would not be convicted
By a jury of my peers

Still crazy
Still crazy after all these years

Happy Birthday Leigh, knock em' dead in Berlin!

Vivre La Par-E!

This weekend we decided to combine our Paris tour plans with a little fitness to the tune of biking, rollerblading, walk, skip and jumping :-) I was still a little sore from playing squash for the first time in almost a year on Thursday (wow does squash ever hit the ass muscles hard!) but after renting some mountain bikes and cycling for 10 minutes I totally got back into the groove. It started almost immediatly with some of the lesser-known sites in Paris like this forest nestled house (yes this is in Paris city!):

Some of the parks in Paris are absolutely stunning:

Take a look at this old tower lookout, we had to go check it out!

The view on route, the caverns, bridges and trails reminded me of something out of DisneyWorld Pirates of the Carabean. Playing in these real tounnels would have totally kicked ass over their man-made ones!

Near the cavern/waterfalls it put a smile on my face to know I wasn't the only only enjoying the fun and sun today :-) No joke this dog was splashing around for over 5 minutes before deciding upon a suitibly good look rock to take to his master... who threw it back into the water to start the hunt aknew :-)

The cave/waterfall network, tres cool:

It's so weird and interesting to see caves downtown Paris!

This is the view from the top of that monument opposite the park. You can't see it because of the exposure but I'm actually about to crush Mont Marque:

I guess I failed, can't destroy that type of classic beauty!

After having checked out some of the downtown parks we decided to do some city cycling. En route we went down the very touristy sex area. The street was jam packed with sex shops, surely catoring to the visiting tourists looking to spice up their romatic lives:

And of course, the most famous sex shop of them all: The Sexodrome. As you can see from the picture I'm hiding out in the bushes taking pics of all the perves coming out so I can out them on the Internet... sniff sniff, actually they're my hero's, I wish I could go in there too ;-)

This tavern, located about halfway down the street, was totally rockin':

Well I gotta admit that despite integrating into Paresian life these last few weeks, deep down I'm still a tourist here. Hence the required Moulon Rouge shot:

Another amazing weekend come and gone, but it wouldn't be complete without a couple cold brews and story recaps with some warm friends :-)

On tap for next weekend... Suttgart CBP and the start of Bundesliga again! Yippee!
